My current philosophy of student affairs is student-focused and data-informed. I firmly believe that student affairs educators need to develop pathways for all students to thrive in higher education. As an educator, I aim to create opportunities for students to develop leadership competencies to become lifelong learners and global citizens. Space matters. It is essential to cultivate environments where students’ backgrounds and identities are validated through cultural centers and services. We must do the work to challenge and support students. However, it is also important to see where students are at and if they are in a place where they are ready to be challenged.
